Altera Recruitment Group is supporting a specialist energy from waste operation in Stoke-on-Trent in the appointment of an Industrial Maintenance Electrician.
This is an opportunity to join a complex and varied plant environment where the successful candidate will play a key role in keeping electrical equipment associated with the incineration process operating safely, reliably and efficiently.
The role will involve a combination of planned and reactive maintenance, electrical fault finding and defect rectification across the plant. It would suit an experienced electrician who enjoys working in an operational environment and wants to continue developing their engineering knowledge.
Key Responsibilities of the Industrial Maintenance Electrician

Carry out planned and preventative electrical maintenance, reporting any defects or irregularities.

Respond to breakdowns, fault find and carry out electrical defect rectification to support plant availability.

Fault find on control panels and motors, including 110V, 240V and 415V systems.

Install and replace cabling using tray, trunking, conduit and other appropriate methods, while working from electrical drawings.

Carry out isolations and work within the site's Permit to Work system, including working at height and in confined spaces where required.
Candidate Requirements

Time served apprenticeship or equivalent electrical qualification.

Previous experience in a similar industrial maintenance role.

Strong fault finding skills with the ability to interpret technical and electrical drawings.

Ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to unplanned situations.

HNC or HND in an electrical discipline would be desirable but is not essential. HV experience up to 33KV, Working at Height and MEWP training would also be advantageous.
