Looking for a permanent Electrician role with a better work-life balance?
Are you a qualified Electrician, Maintenance Electrician or Electrical Engineer looking for a secure, long-term position with an established and growing contractor?
Would you like Monday–Friday day work, no night shifts, and to be home every night in the vast majority of cases?
This could be the opportunity for you.
We're looking for experienced Electricians to join a well-established business experiencing continued growth. You'll carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a variety of commercial and industrial sites throughout the Southeast and Midlands.
Your work will be planned as close to your home location as possible, helping to minimise unnecessary travel. The role is predominantly home-based, with occasional overnight stays required depending on the job.
What makes this role different?
This is a permanent PAYE position offering stability, variety and the opportunity to develop your career without being tied to one site.
You'll work Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with voluntary overtime available if you want to increase your earnings. You'll also have a company vehicle and fuel card, 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays, and access to ongoing training and career development.
When overnight stays are occasionally required, you'll receive a stay-away bonus, hotel accommodation and a food allowance.
About the role
As a Maintenance Electrician, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance and PPM across commercial and industrial properties.
The work is varied and could include maintaining and repairing emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, access control, solar panels and EV charging equipment, as well as carrying out fault finding, repairs and general electrical maintenance.
You'll be customer-facing, so we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with clients and represents their employer professionally.
You'll also be responsible for completing electronic job sheets, ensuring work complies with current electrical regulations and maintaining high standards of health and safety.
About you
We're looking for an experienced Electrician with an ECS Gold Card, 18th Edition and NVQ Level 3 or a City & Guilds equivalent.
Experience working within commercial or industrial environments is important. 2391 or 6791 Test & Inspection would be advantageous but isn't essential, and IPAF would also be beneficial.
You'll need a full UK manual driving licence and the flexibility to travel across the Southeast and Midlands.
Where could you be based?
We're particularly interested in Electricians based around Stevenage, Hertfordshire, Bedford, Milton Keynes, Luton, Cambridge, Northampton, Kent and Essex, although other locations may be considered.
We'll always aim to schedule work as close to your home location as possible.
