Job Purpose

To carry out planned, preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across the site, ensuring all electrical equipment, machinery and building services operate safely, reliably and efficiently. The role will be responsible for diagnosing faults, completing repairs and supporting continuous improvement of site electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and diagnose faults to minimise production downtime.
  • Install, maintain, test and repair electrical systems, machinery and equipment.
  • Carry out electrical fault-finding using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Complete inspections, testing and remedial works in accordance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, faults, repairs and parts used.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery and electrical systems.
  • Work safely in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures and electrical safety standards.
  • Identify potential electrical hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Liaise with production and other engineering personnel to prioritise maintenance requirements.
  • Support contractors and external engineers where required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability projects.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Participate in an on-call, shift or overtime rota where applicable.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised electrical qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.
