Maintenance Engineer, £45,000 - £50,000 | Monday-Friday Days | Oldham

ATA Recruitment is recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, family-run manufacturing business in Oldham. Due to an upcoming retirement, the company is looking for an engineer to become part of a close-knit maintenance team supporting a modern manufacturing facility.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping production running through planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support across a wide range of manufacturing equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs
  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding
  • Electrical installation work when required
  • Maintaining and improving a variety of manufacturing machinery including:
    • CNC machinery
    • Band saws
    • Conveyor systems
    • Compressors
    • Special purpose manufacturing equipment

This is a 70% mechanical / 30% electrical position, making it ideal for a mechanically biased multi-skilled engineer.

About You

To be successful in this Maintenance Engineer role, you should have:

  • Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or factory environment
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience with strong mechanical fault-finding ability
  • Electrical competency, including fault finding and installation work
  • A recognised Level 3 Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or apprenticeship)
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well within a small, close-knit maintenance team
