We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a specialist manufacturing business operating within a highly technical and equipment-intensive production environment.

The site operates a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, working 12-hour days and nights, giving you a fantastic work-life balance while also providing significant opportunities to increase your earnings through overtime.

About the Business

You'll be joining a specialist manufacturing operation supplying high-performance engineered products into critical industries.

The site is highly process-driven, with products manufactured through a number of different production stages. As a result, the engineering team is responsible for maintaining a broad range of machinery and supporting equipment.

This isn't a role where you'll be working on the same piece of equipment every day.

You'll have the opportunity to work across a varied range of mechanical and electrical systems, developing your technical knowledge and becoming a key member of the engineering team.

The business has international backing and continues to invest in its facilities, production equipment and engineering capabilities as demand increases.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping the production operation running efficiently.

The role is predominantly reactive maintenance, so you'll need to be confident fault finding, diagnosing problems and getting equipment back into production safely and efficiently.

You'll work on a wide variety of machinery and systems, including:

• Rollers
• Extruders
• Presses
• Forming equipment
• Pumps
• Pipework
• Pneumatic systems
• Hydraulic systems
• Temperature systems
• Pressure systems

Your Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out reactive maintenance across a wide range of production machinery
• Electrical fault finding and diagnosis
• Mechanical fault finding and repairs
• Identifying faults with motors, sensors and control equipment
• Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Using HMIs to interrogate PLC systems
• Checking PLC inputs and outputs
• Working with control systems
• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings
• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance when required
• Supporting production and minimising equipment downtime
• Working safely and following site engineering procedures
• Providing technical support to the wider production team

Training & Development

The business understands the importance of developing its engineering team.

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of machinery, production processes and engineering systems.

What Are They Looking For?

You'll ideally have:

• Level 3 Engineering qualification – NVQ, apprenticeship or equivalent
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician or similar
• Experience within a manufacturing environment
• Electrical fault-finding ability
• Strong mechanical maintenance skills
• Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
• Experience with PLCs and HMIs
• A confident and methodical approach to fault finding
• The ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team
• A proactive attitude towards maintenance and continuous improvement
