Maintenance Engineer (Days)

Location: Dewsbury, West Yorkshire
Salary: £34,777 – £39,249 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (37.5 hours)
Industry: Textile / Carpet Manufacturing

The Company

A well-established textile manufacturer is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team. This is a permanent days-based role supporting a busy manufacturing operation, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure maximum production uptime.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing equipment.
  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.
  • Responding to production breakdowns quickly and efficiently.
  • Supporting machinery upgrades and installation projects.
  • Working on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Completing maintenance documentation using the CMMS system.
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime.
  • Working closely with production to improve machine reliability.

The Candidate

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills with electrical knowledge.
  • Experience within manufacturing, production or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor systems.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification (preferred but not essential).
