gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work at their facility based near Deeside

Performance Objectives

• Work within Company procedures and S.O.P.'s with Health & Safety as a priority
• Work to regulations and health & safety legislation
• Carry out, and continually develop planned maintenance programmes on all machinery to a high quality standard
• Systematic Root Cause Analysis and Elimination techniques
• Use effective and timely fault finding skills on all site machinery to ensure optimum machine performance and productivity
• Maintain all relevant paperwork and auditable systems in line with internal and external standards
• Be proactively involved in continuous improvement of personal skills, the engineering department and plant machinery
• Actively involved in projects as and when requested
• Pro-active ideas in relation to reduction of downtime

Person Specification

• Successful completion of HNC (Higher qualifications considered favourably)
• Apprentice Trained NVQ 3 / Gity & Guilds Mechanical Engineering
• Pneumatic and Hydraulics training
• Experience in World Class Manufacturing standards
• Experience in 5S
• Experience of working in high speed automated production environment
• Experienced in using computers, including Microsoft Excel

• Have the ability to work with little supervision using own initiative within parameters of the role
• Be a confident team player
• Show evidence of written and oral communication skills with reference to dealing with people at all levels of the business and development of work procedures
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to sustain effective relationships on behalf of the department with internal customers
• Self motivated
• Ability to develop and implement new ideas within specific resource parameters
• Be able to demonstrate accurate, reliable and safe systems of working
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement techniques such as PPM/TPM system based review of downtime data weekly /monthly/quarterly reporting
