gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work at their facility based near Deeside
Performance Objectives
- Work within Company procedures and S.O.P.'s with Health & Safety as a priority
- Work to regulations and health & safety legislation
- Carry out, and continually develop planned maintenance programmes on all machinery to a high quality standard
- Systematic Root Cause Analysis and Elimination techniques
- Use effective and timely fault finding skills on all site machinery to ensure optimum machine performance and productivity
- Maintain all relevant paperwork and auditable systems in line with internal and external standards
- Be proactively involved in continuous improvement of personal skills, the engineering department and plant machinery
- Actively involved in projects as and when requested
- Pro-active ideas in relation to reduction of downtime
Person Specification
- Successful completion of HNC (Higher qualifications considered favourably)
- Apprentice Trained NVQ 3 / Gity & Guilds Mechanical Engineering
- Pneumatic and Hydraulics training
- Experience in World Class Manufacturing standards
- Experience in 5S
- Experience of working in high speed automated production environment
- Experienced in using computers, including Microsoft Excel
Successful candidates for this role will:
- Be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving and decision making
- Have the ability to work with little supervision using own initiative within parameters of the role
- Be a confident team player
- Show evidence of written and oral communication skills with reference to dealing with people at all levels of the business and development of work procedures
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to sustain effective relationships on behalf of the department with internal customers
- Self motivated
- Ability to develop and implement new ideas within specific resource parameters
- Be able to demonstrate accurate, reliable and safe systems of working
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement techniques such as PPM/TPM system based review of downtime data weekly /monthly/quarterly reporting
