Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for your next opportunity within an FMCG or packaging environment? We are partnering with a leading FMCG manufacturer in Cambridgeshire to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a 4-on, 4-off day shift pattern. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in supporting a fast-paced production facility, carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance, while contributing to ongoing site improvements. This role would suit either a strong mechanical bias, or a strong electrical bias engineer.

Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £45,000
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Days)
Location: Cambridgeshire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance to optimise production line efficiency, reliability, and overall performance
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs across a wide range of modern production and packaging equipment
  • Work collaboratively with Production teams, sharing technical knowledge and supporting operators to improve equipment performance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and increasing operational efficiency
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, and upgrading of machinery and production lines
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with health, safety, and food industry regulations
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure documentation is up to date

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within an FMCG or manufacturing environment, working with production or packaging machinery
  • A formal electrical engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, Engineering Apprenticeship, or Food and Drink Apprenticeship Standard)
  • Experience in a similar role such as Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer, Shift Technician, Engineering Technician, Maintenance Technician, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
  • Demonstrated involvement in continuous improvement activities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
