Maintenance Engineer

We are recruiting for a well established FMCG Manufacturer in Northampton in their search for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to complete reactive and preventative maintenance, as well as continious improvement for the site. This would suit a well-versed Maintenance Engineer with a 70/30 or 80/20 Mechanical Electrical split.

Multi-Skilled Engineer
Location: Northampton
Salary: Up to £55,000 plus overtime
Shift Pattern: 6am-6pm Panama shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out predominantly mechanical maintenance (approximately 70/30 or 80/20 split) across production equipment systems.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on high-speed bottling and packaging machinery to ensure continuous operation.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults, with supporting electrical fault-finding when required to minimise downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement mechanical improvements to enhance reliability and production efficiency.
• Support production teams by ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and within performance targets.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records while adhering to health, safety, and engineering compliance standards.

Requirements:

• Strong multi-skilled engineering background within FMCG or similar fast-paced manufacturing environments with high-volume production demands.
• Competent in mechanical fault-finding, with supporting electrical knowledge for effective problem-solving on-site.
• Proactive and detail-oriented approach, focused on continuous improvement and reducing equipment downtime.
• Relevant engineering qualifications at Level 3 or above in mechanical, electrical, or related disciplines
