Maintenance Engineer

This is a hands-on engineering opportunity within a world-class facility, where the Maintenance Equipment Engineer will be responsible for supporting equipment maintenance, breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance schedules. A key focus will be maximising equipment uptime, availability and OEE while ensuring maintenance activities are effectively planned and controlled.
As the Maintenance Equipment Engineer, you will also work closely with specialist contractors and third-party providers, supervising maintenance and repair activities where external expertise is required.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out hands-on repairs and maintenance across key site services and production equipment.
- Fault finding on Reflow Ovens, SMT Pick & Place machines, Conformal Coating systems, AOI and inspection equipment.
- Diagnosing faults across electrical, electronic, pneumatic and control systems.
- Developing and implementing planned maintenance schedules using a tracking/CMMS system.
- Managing contractors, including permit-to-work issue and engagement.
- Building productive relationships with local contractors and engineering service providers.
- Raising purchase orders through procurement while controlling costs and adhering to budget requirements.
- Developing critical spare-parts lists for equipment.
- Supporting plant relocations and equipment installations across FM and SMT operations.
- Escalating equipment and maintenance issues to the management team when required.
- Experience within SMT/PCB manufacturing processes and associated equipment.
- Previous experience maintaining surface-mount equipment.
- Strong electrical, electronic, pneumatic and control-system fault-finding capability.
- IOSH or evidence of a robust health and safety background.
- Manufacturing experience, including customer-facing exposure.
- The ability to control maintenance spend while achieving uptime requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills when working with colleagues and contractors.
- Good IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- A full driving licence.
