Maintenance Engineer

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) for our client based in Witham.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturing business, responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a range of production machinery. Working both independently and as part of a small team, you will play a key role in ensuring machinery operates efficiently whilst minimising downtime.

The successful candidate will be a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience gained within a manufacturing or production environment. Knowledge of PLCs would be advantageous.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery.
• Respond to machine breakdowns and carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding.
• Diagnose faults on electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems.
• Assist with dismantling, repairing and reassembling production equipment.
• Complete scheduled maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure machinery is operating efficiently to maximise production output.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records where required.
• Work safely in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
• Support production teams to minimise downtime.

Ideally the candidate will have the following experience:

• Previous experience as a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of PLC fault finding would be advantageous.
• Level 3 Diploma, NVQ Level 3, HNC, 18th Edition or City & Guilds 2382 qualification.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working hours to meet business demands.
• Full UK driving licence.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 11:30pm, with overtime available at weekends.

In return our client offers a starting salary from £35,000 per annum (DOE)
