Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge?

We're recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company based in Preston that is continuing to invest heavily in both its people and its technology. As part of its long-term growth strategy, the business is expanding its engineering team and investing significantly in reliability, automation and continuous improvement projects, making this an exciting time for a Maintenance Engineer to come on board.

This opportunity would suit an electrically biased or multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to join a company where engineering is recognised as a key driver of operational success.

The Role:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring maximum equipment uptime across a highly automated manufacturing facility by carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across the site.
  • Fault finding on electrical and mechanical equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Supporting reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting with automation projects, machinery upgrades and new equipment installations.
  • Working closely with production teams to maximise plant performance and equipment reliability.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this Maintenance Engineer position, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Multi-Skilled Engineer or similar within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience working on automated production machinery.
  • A recognised engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent.

If you're a Maintenance Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking manufacturer that's investing in its engineering function and offers excellent earning potential, we'd love to hear from you.
