A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Letchworth Garden City.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to move away from night shifts and weekend working while still benefiting from a varied engineering position within a fast-paced production environment.

Working on a Monday to Friday rotating earlies and lates shift pattern, you will join an experienced engineering team responsible for maintaining production machinery, responding to breakdowns and ensuring maximum plant reliability.

The successful Maintenance Engineer will have a strong mechanical background, with experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment.

• Respond to machinery breakdowns and diagnose mechanical faults efficiently.

• Carry out mechanical repairs and component replacements.

• Conduct fault finding across a range of production and manufacturing equipment.

• Work on equipment including motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, pumps and pneumatic systems.

• Support basic electrical fault finding where required.

• Work closely with production teams to minimise machinery downtime.

• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.

• Support continuous improvement and engineering projects across the site.

• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.

• Accurately complete engineering and maintenance documentation.

Manufacturing / Factory Maintenance

• Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding abilities.

• Experience carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, processing, production or industrial environment.

• Recognised engineering qualification – Mechanical, Maintenance, Multi-Skilled or equivalent.

• Ability to diagnose breakdowns and work effectively within a fast-paced production environment.

• Willingness to work a rotating earlies and lates shift pattern.

• Basic electrical fault-finding experience.

• Experience maintaining motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, conveyors, pneumatics and other production machinery.

• Experience within an automated or high-volume manufacturing environment.

• Continuous improvement and machinery reliability experience.

• Salary of £40,000+

• Monday to Friday ONLY
