When production stops, every minute counts. As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be the person who gets things moving again, prevents problems before they happen and keeps a busy food manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently.

You'll be working in a modern production facility in North Yorkshire where reliability, quality and continuous improvement really matter. From tackling unexpected breakdowns to improving equipment performance and helping introduce new machinery, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible difference every day.

What’s in it for you
  • The opportunity to work within an established, independent food manufacturing business.
  • Shifts pattern, working 4 days on and 2 days off.
  • Accommodation support available for candidates looking to relocate to the area.
  • A varied, hands-on position working with a wide range of production machinery and equipment.
  • Involvement in new equipment installations, upgrades and factory development projects.
  • The opportunity to influence how machinery performs, improving reliability and reducing downtime.
  • Ongoing professional development to strengthen your technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • A collaborative production environment where your technical expertise directly supports operational performance.

Your responsibilities as Maintenance Engineer
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections and servicing to improve equipment reliability and prevent breakdowns.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, completing repairs quickly and safely to minimise production downtime.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Work closely with production teams to optimise machinery performance, including equipment setup and knife care.
  • Support the installation, commissioning and upgrading of machinery, alongside site improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate servicing records and spare parts inventories, coordinate contractors and ensure compliance with health, safety and food safety standards.

What we’re looking for in a Maintenance Engineer
  • Previous experience in an industrial maintenance role, ideally within food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven fault-finding, diagnostic and repair skills across production machinery.
  • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to equipment breakdowns.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or equivalent, are desirable, although strong practical experience will also be considered.

Working Hours: Shifts pattern, working 4 days on and 2 days off.

If you enjoy solving technical problems, improving machinery reliability and keeping production moving, we’d love to hear from you. Apply online today for this Maintenance Engineer opportunity in North Yorkshire. Accommodation support is available if you're considering relocating.
