We are recruiting on behalf of a leading, award-winning property developer and operator with over 35 years of success delivering exceptional residential, student accommodation, and commercial developments across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a premium city-centre development, renowned for its high-quality living environment, landscaped green spaces, and exclusive resident amenities.



The Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the building, apartments, and communal areas are maintained to the highest possible standard. You'll provide a responsive maintenance service, ensuring residents receive an excellent customer experience while maintaining full compliance with health and safety regulations.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and repair work, including plumbing, joinery, decorating, and basic electrical repairs.
  • Complete reactive maintenance requests efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checks, including emergency lighting and fire alarm testing.
  • Prepare apartments for new residents and complete repairs following tenancy inspections.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, compliance, and health & safety records.
  • Conduct building inspections and health & safety audits.
  • Escort contractors and monitor works carried out on site.
  • Support refurbishment, redecoration, and capital improvement projects.
  • Work closely with the management team to maintain exceptional standards across the development.
  • Participate in the maintenance call-out process for emergency situations.


About You

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive, and takes pride in delivering high standards.

You'll have:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or property maintenance role.
  • Experience of general building maintenance, including plumbing, joinery, decorating, and repairs.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive, professional, and flexible approach.

Desirable:

  • Trade qualifications in Plumbing, Joinery, Electrical Installation, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within residential, Build-to-Rent, student accommodation, hospitality, or facilities management environments.


Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday on a rotating shift basis:
    • 8:00am - 5:00pm, or
    • 10:00am - 7:00pm
  • 1 in 5 Saturdays (8:00am - 5:00pm), with time off in lieu provided the following week.
  • Additional overtime opportunities may be available during busy periods.
