Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Operative with proven experience in both plumbing and electrical maintenance to join our team for a 2 week assignement - 3 days per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of reactive and planned maintenance tasks across student properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Candidates must possess their own tools and be comfortable working independently while delivering excellent customer service.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and installations relating to plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose faults and undertake remedial works in a timely manner.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime and prevent future issues.
  • Install, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures, pipework, taps, toilets, and related components.
  • Carry out minor electrical works including fault finding, replacement of fittings, sockets, switches, and lighting systems.
  • Complete basic building maintenance tasks including carpentry, decorating, and general repairs where required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants, customers, and colleagues.


Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Operative, Multi-Skilled Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong plumbing maintenance and repair experience.
  • Practical electrical maintenance experience with the ability to safely undertake minor electrical works.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently.
  • Own set of professional tools suitable for plumbing and electrical maintenance work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
