About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our Omagh site, which employs around 100 people and produces high-quality dairy products, including ice cream, cream, custards, and syrups enjoyed every day.
In this role you will provide planning and scheduling support, maintain CMMS / maintenance and administration activities, support work order management and contractor co-ordination and ensure continuity of maintenance planning activities.

This is a Temporary Full-time Contract working Monday to Friday Onsite in Omagh for a duration of 14 months.

What will you be doing?
  • Review, prioritise, and plan all non-emergency maintenance work orders.
  • Ensure work orders include a clear scope, realistic timelines, labour estimates and accurate coding.
  • Liaise with requesting departments to define work requirements and ensure appropriate approvals are in place.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine the most effective maintenance approach.
  • Plan labour, materials, tools and resources required for maintenance activities.
  • Estimate maintenance costs, including labour and materials.
  • Manage maintenance backlog and maintain a sufficient ready backlog to support schedule changes.
  • Develop and issue weekly maintenance schedules in collaboration with Maintenance and Production teams.
  • Coordinate planned downtime windows for preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Create and maintain standard job plans for recurring maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor workforce availability and support resource planning.
  • Produce and distribute weekly and monthly KPI reports, providing analysis and improvement recommendations.
  • Ensure QSHE requirements are embedded in all maintenance planning activities.

This role plays a critical part in improving maintenance efficiency, plant performance and compliance through effective planning and scheduling practices

What do you need to be successful?
  • Engineering degree or technical school training preferred.
  • Good oral / written communication skills, possess tact, and the ability to negotiate maintenance needs in balance with other departmental requirements.   
  • Good understanding or mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Craft knowledge to estimate man hours and materials
  • Good administrative and mathematical skills with willingness to handle paperwork.
  • Excellent planning skills.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to keep multiple jobs in controlled motion – simultaneously.
  • Have a good working knowledge of personal computers and relational databases.
  • Able to read blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Sketching ability.
