Branta Recruitment is partnering with a market-leading, national Facilities Management company to recruit a Static Maintenance Plumber to join the resident technical team at a prestigious, large-scale commercial facility in Newcastle upon Tyne.

This role offers the stability and convenience of working on a single, high-spec commercial site with no daily travel or commuting between regional client locations. As the resident Plumbing & Mechanical Specialist, you will be responsible for keeping all water hygiene systems, commercial plumbing infrastructure, and plant room pipework running smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across all commercial plumbing and domestic water services on site.

  • Maintain water hygiene standards, including Legionella control measures, temperature monitoring, routine flushing, and showerhead descaling in accordance with HSG274/L8.

  • Diagnose and repair plumbing faults, leaks, blocked drainage, TMVs (Thermostatic Mixing Valves), and sanitary appliances.

  • Assist with basic plant room maintenance, pumps, pressurized water systems, and unvented hot water cylinders.

  • Complete digital job sheets and maintain accurate site compliance logs.

  • Work collaboratively with on-site commercial gas, electrical, and HVAC engineers on broader mechanical issues.

  • Participate in a site-specific emergency call-out rota (additional allowance provided).

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or time-served equivalent).

  • Unvented Hot Water Certification (G3) (desirable).

  • Proven experience in commercial plumbing maintenance or building services FM.

  • Strong understanding of water regulations, health & safety practices, and PPM regimes.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills when dealing with on-site staff and clients.
