We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Plumber to join a facilities management team working on a prestigious contract in Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive and corrective maintenance, fault-finding and general plumbing repairs across the site.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Plumber looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday position within a professional facilities management environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and repairs across the site
  • Diagnose faults and identify the root cause of plumbing and mechanical issues
  • Maintain and repair a range of plumbing and mechanical building services
  • Carry out inspections, testing and corrective works in line with relevant regulations and manufacturer requirements
  • Work safely and ensure all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests and prioritise tasks accordingly
  • Complete maintenance records, work orders and relevant documentation accurately
  • Liaise with colleagues, clients and contractors to ensure effective delivery of maintenance services
  • Monitor contractors where required and ensure work is completed to the required standard
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety and compliance at all times
Requirements
  • Recognised Plumbing qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds
  • Previous experience within commercial or facilities management environments
  • Strong experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Good knowledge of plumbing and mechanical building services
  • Experience working within large commercial environments would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise reactive and planned tasks
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach
  • A proactive attitude with a focus on delivering a high-quality service
