Maintenance & Projects Supervisor
Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30
Location: Currys Distribution Centre – Newark, NG24 2NH

We’re recruiting for a Maintenance & Projects Supervisor to join the engineering team at a major Currys distribution centre in Newark.

The site covers approximately 2 million sq. ft. and is continuing to grow, with a new building being added to the operation. This is a key role within the engineering team, combining management of a team of 9 engineers with maintenance planning, contractor management, compliance and project delivery. You’ll be responsible for organising the engineering team’s workload, ensuring PPM and reactive maintenance is delivered effectively, whilst also supporting projects and small works across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 9 trade engineers.
  • Plan and allocate engineer workloads across planned preventative maintenance and reactive works.
  • Use Maximo CAFM to manage jobs, maintenance activity, resources and reporting.
  • Ensure maintenance is delivered in line with SFG20 and site compliance requirements.
  • Manage contractors attending site, including reviewing RAMS, method statements and task controls.
  • Carry out regular audits of engineers and contractors to ensure safe and compliant working practices.
  • Prepare and price quotations for small works and projects, ranging from approximately £500 through to £100,000+.
  • Work alongside the Technical Manager to develop quotations and support larger project works.
  • Support the delivery of major refurbishment and project activity, including a current £1.3m refurbishment project.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor or similar who has previously managed a team of engineers within a maintenance, engineering, industrial, commercial or facilities environment. You’ll ideally have experience in:

  • Managing and allocating workloads to engineers.
  • PPM and reactive maintenance.
  • CAFM systems.
  • Contractor management.
  • Engineering audits and compliance.
  • Preparing quotations and managing small works.
  • Supporting or delivering projects.
  • Working with clients and senior stakeholders.

Experience of pricing works and supporting projects is important, but you don't need to have managed £1m+ projects independently. You’ll work closely with the Technical Manager on larger projects and have the opportunity to develop your project and commercial experience. The business is also committed to developing the successful candidate, with additional training available where required, including IOSH, SMSTS and Temporary Works Supervisor qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering or maintenance supervisor to take responsibility for a large engineering team while developing their experience across projects, commercial works, compliance and contractor management. Apply now to find out more.
