Maintenance Site Team Leader
Proactive Global
Role Summary
As a Maintenance Site Team Leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in launching and shaping maintenance operations. As the first hire in Ireland, you'll be responsible for executing proven service delivery processes already established across the UK and Europe whilst adapting them to the needs of a recognised food & beverage distributor.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll split your time at the client's warehouse maintaining advanced automation systems and leading a small, growing team of technicians. It's a well-suited opportunity for an experienced maintenance technician ready to step into their first leadership role, or a more experienced leader who thrives in evolving environments and is keen to influence how maintenance operations are delivered locally.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of on-site Maintenance Technicians based at the client warehouse location, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and regular training and development.
- Support Maintenance Technicians in their daily work by providing hands-on technical support as well as operational direction.
- Conduct, plan, and ensure preventive maintenance and other maintenance tasks are carried out on time and on schedule.
- Act as the local service representative for the assigned warehouse location.
- Monitor system performance at the client site, providing regular and timely data reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure any escalations or system performance issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
- Ensure material purchasing remains within budget.
- Manage third-party schedules as appropriate, ensuring mandatory equipment inspections are completed within required timelines.
- Ensure Maintenance team members, external partners, contractors, vendors, warehouse operators, and site visitors comply with health, safety, and environmental standards and protocols.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
Requirements
We strongly encourage applications from candidates of all genders to help build a truly inclusive environment. If you don’t meet every requirement listed below, your skills and experiences may still make you a great fit.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience, ideally with 1+ year as a senior maintenance team member or recognised mentor/expert.
- Good general knowledge and competency in mechanical, electrical, and software maintenance operations and engineering.
- If no robotics-specific experience, then a strong interest in working with robotics systems and automated machinery.
- Exposure to warehouse automation, industrial robotics, materials handling, and/or logistics environments would be highly beneficial.
- Strong client-facing mindset with the ability to build credibility and, where necessary, de-escalate and repair stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to work effectively and make business or leadership decisions autonomously.
- Understanding of basic SQL queries would be a bonus.
