This is a brilliant opportunity for a practical, hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys variety and takes real pride in keeping a site running smoothly, safely and looking its best.
As part of the onsite facilities team, you'll be responsible for a broad range of building and facilities maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general repairs. You'll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshoot problems and help ensure the site remains safe, functional and well presented.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable being an all-round site maintenance technician rather than specialising in just one area.
Hours & On-Call The position is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week and fully onsite.
There will occasionally be opportunities for additional overtime relating to ad-hoc projects. The role also participates in a 1-in-3-week on-call rota, with additional pay for on-call periods.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across building systems, equipment and general facilities.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently and within agreed SLAs.
- Carry out general mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoot faults and identify practical solutions to keep equipment and facilities operating effectively.
- Complete repairs and modifications to existing equipment and systems and assist with new installations where required.
- Ensure all maintenance and PPM documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Identify and order parts, components and materials required to complete maintenance work.
- Help ensure the site is always safe, clean, functional and professionally presented, including buildings, lighting, roads and walkways.
- Work in accordance with established Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a good understanding of site safety procedures and support safety activities and training when required.
- Escalate urgent or significant issues appropriately and ensure problems are resolved in a timely manner.
You'll ideally have:
- Practical experience of building or facilities maintenance within a commercial environment.
- A good working knowledge across areas such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing and general building maintenance.
- A relevant qualification within an electrical, mechanical, plumbing or related maintenance discipline.
- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- A practical, flexible approach and willingness to get involved with a wide variety of tasks.
- Good awareness of Health & Safety within a maintenance environment.
- A positive attitude and a genuine sense of pride in the quality of your work.
- The flexibility to participate in the 1-in-3 on-call rota and occasional overtime projects.
