Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Canary Wharf
Salary: £41,200 + Bonus
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | 5 days out of 7 (including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis)

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to support the day-to-day maintenance operations of a large residential community.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee maintenance activities, support a team of Maintenance Operatives and work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the building is safe, compliant and maintained to an exceptional standard.

You'll play a key role in delivering an outstanding resident experience by ensuring maintenance issues are resolved efficiently while maintaining excellent health and safety and compliance standards.



Key Responsibilities



Maintenance Operations

  • Support the daily operation of the maintenance department across the development.
  • Allocate and prioritise Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and lifecycle works.
  • Ensure apartments, communal areas and building infrastructure are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Support apartment turnaround programmes to ensure homes are ready for occupation.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and provide leadership during periods of absence.


Team Leadership

  • Supervise, support and motivate a team of Maintenance Operatives.
  • Allocate workloads and monitor performance to ensure high standards are consistently achieved.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and on-the-job training to develop team capability.
  • Promote a positive, proactive and customer-focused culture.


Compliance & Health & Safety

  • Support statutory compliance across the development.
  • Assist with Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Support Legionella management and other compliance programmes.
  • Ensure maintenance records are accurately maintained using CAFM systems.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and ensure remedial actions are completed.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with company standards.


Resident & Contractor Management

  • Build strong relationships with residents, contractors and internal teams.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance queries and ensure excellent customer service is delivered.
  • Work collaboratively with operational and front-of-house teams to create a seamless resident experience.
  • Drive continuous improvements in service delivery and resident satisfaction.


About You

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Previous experience supervising a maintenance team within a residential, hospitality or facilities management environment.
  • Strong knowledge of planned and reactive building maintenance.
  • Experience managing contractors and statutory compliance.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and maintenance best practice.
  • Experience using CAFM or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

  • Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA)
  • Build-to-Rent (BTR)
  • Co-living
  • High-rise residential developments
  • Large-scale residential or mixed-use developments
