Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of engineers and technicians in maintaining building services and critical systems, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently and in line with operational requirements.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for overseeing both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site. This role requires a proactive approach to managing maintenance operations, coordinating contractors and ensuring all work is completed to the required standards.

Job Description

Working within a financial services environment, the Maintenance Supervisor will support the delivery of high-quality facilities management services while ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, safe systems of work and operational procedures. The role also involves supporting maintenance planning, reporting and performance management to minimise downtime and maintain service levels.

We are looking for a proactive individual to oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities, manage contractors, ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, and make sure all work is completed to the required quality and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the site Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team.
  • Allocate work tickets, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and daily work activities.
  • Ensure all maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance activities are completed on schedule.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed safely and effectively.
  • Support the preparation of maintenance reports, equipment evaluations and contractor scopes of work.
  • Oversee operational modifications, isolations, switching activities and safe systems of work.
  • Resolve operational and maintenance issues to minimise downtime, delays and costs.
  • Assist with obtaining and reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations while ensuring compliance with company, client, regulatory and HSEQ requirements.

Person Specification

  • Detailed experience in technical services within a building services environment.
  • Experience within integrated facilities management, ideally in financial services, manufacturing, industrial or healthcare environments.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, vendors and service providers.
  • Experience managing KPIs, capacity planning and performance reporting.
  • Previous hands-on experience working with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with high-risk activities and safe systems of work.
  • Vocational qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to provide support for emergency and out-of-hours maintenance activities when required.
