Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire, UK – Onsite
Working Hours: 8:00–17:00 (subject to operational requirements)

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for delivering effective preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The role supports continuous improvement initiatives, equipment upgrades, and engineering projects while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Engineering Team Leader

  • Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities

  • Plan maintenance work and coordinate with Planning and Production teams

  • Maintain and repair plant equipment, including reaction/mixing vessels, decant stations, and pumping systems

  • Use the Emaint CMMS to record, track, and analyse maintenance activities

  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across maintenance and site areas

  • Conduct risk assessments in collaboration with the Compliance team

  • Ensure all work complies with company procedures, permits, and method statements

  • Support plant improvements, modifications, and new equipment installation

  • Provide cover for other technicians during absences as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), or 2–3 years’ relevant maintenance experience

  • Ability to interpret P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) drawings

  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Experience performing preventative maintenance activities

  • Demonstrated fault-finding and problem-solving capability

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Preferred Requirements

  • Forklift Truck (FLT) licence

  • Awareness of DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002)

  • Experience with permit-to-work systems (training provided if required)

  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and standard IT tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, ERP systems)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
