Maintenance Technician

Hays Engineering

Your new company
A well-established manufacturing business operating within a highly regulated process environment is looking to strengthen its on-site engineering team. The site offers a supportive culture, long-term career development opportunities, and investment in employee training, with several engineers having progressed into senior positions within the business.

Your new role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a varied manufacturing facility. Working on process equipment including pumps, pipework, vessels, mixers and filling machinery, you will troubleshoot faults, complete repairs and support continuous improvement activities. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, with responsibility extending beyond production equipment to general site maintenance when required. You will be expected to manage your own workload, work closely with different departments, and maintain high safety standards at all times.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience working in a maintenance role within a manufacturing, process, chemical, or similar industrial environment. A mechanical bias is preferred, although candidates with broader maintenance experience will also be considered. You should possess strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, be comfortable working independently, and have a proactive approach to maintenance. Experience working with permit-to-work systems, CMMS software, and site safety procedures would be advantageous. Knowledge of chemical or liquid processing environments is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.

What you'll get in return

  • Salary of £37,000-£42,000 depending on experience
  • Regular overtime opportunities with enhanced rates
  • Local bonus scheme
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays as well as the option to purchase additional annual leave
  • Flexible benefits
  • Ongoing training and development as the business is committed to investing in its employees and can offer genuine long-term progression opportunities
