The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics and distribution company based at Sherwood Business Park for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their on-site Facilities team.

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the maintenance and smooth operation of two busy warehouse facilities. You'll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and ensuring the site remains safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across warehouse and office facilities.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues, minimising downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on site equipment, lighting, and building services.
  • Complete general maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, decorating, roofing, and building fabric repairs.
  • Carry out Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, and Fire Door inspections.
  • Perform PAT testing (training can be provided if required).
  • Complete routine safety inspections and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update work logs.
  • Order replacement parts and maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Liaise with contractors where specialist repairs are required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical maintenance knowledge with the ability to diagnose and resolve faults.
  • Experience carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance.
  • Practical skills across plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and general building maintenance.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Good communication and basic IT skills.
  • A flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider Facilities team.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, 18th Edition, or equivalent).
  • PAT Testing certification.
  • First Aid, Fire Marshal, or MHE licences (training can be provided).
