An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Major Projects Programme Delivery Lead (Interim) to take the lead on a once-in-a-generation programme of regeneration, transport investment and place-making. Reporting directly to the Director of Growth & Place, you will provide senior programme leadership across a portfolio of high-profile projects that will transform communities, drive economic growth and create long-term investment opportunities.

You will be at the centre of a complex and fast-moving agenda, ensuring major infrastructure investments are translated into tangible outcomes. With key transport milestones approaching and ambitious regeneration plans underway, this is a highly visible assignment where your leadership, influence and delivery expertise will have an immediate impact.

Your Role as Major Projects Programme Delivery Lead (Interim):
  • Lead the Operational Readiness Programme for Metro Phase 2 and Dudley Interchange, driving successful delivery against critical milestones
    • Create a single integrated programme across regeneration, infrastructure and place-based initiatives, ensuring alignment and accountability
    • Establish robust governance, programme reporting, risk management frameworks and executive dashboards
    • Act as client lead for the Dudley Ecosystem Masterplan, overseeing procurement, mobilisation and consultant management
    • Build strong partnerships with regional stakeholders, investors, transport partners and senior leaders to maximise regeneration opportunities
Your previous experience as a Major Projects Programme Delivery Lead (Interim):
  • Proven track record leading large-scale regeneration, infrastructure or economic development programmes
    • Significant experience operating within complex local government or public sector environments
    • Strong background in programme governance, assurance, risk management and stakeholder engagement
    • Experience procuring and managing consultants, professional advisers and multi-disciplinary teams
    • Ability to work successfully with elected Members, senior leadership teams and strategic partners
