The Role
We're looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team at an important point in Broadacres' journey. Our Firm Foundations programme is strengthening how we work and creating the platform for our next corporate strategy.
In this role, you'll provide high-quality financial information, assurance and advice that helps colleagues make better decisions, use our resources well and deliver greater impact for customers and communities.
Make an impact through insight and partnership
This is a varied and influential role with real scope to improve and lead key financial processes. You'll oversee the annual operating budget process, produce timely management, Board and regulatory information, monitor treasury and funding requirements, and strengthen financial control. Working closely with service managers and budget holders, you'll turn insight into action, build organisational confidence and keep Broadacres' purpose at the heart of financial decision-making. Your analysis will help us direct investment effectively, maximise income, minimise losses and deliver value for money as we pursue our ambitions for affordable rural housing.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare reliable monthly management accounts, analysis and reports, highlighting trends, risks, opportunities, potential losses and corrective action.
• Lead the preparation, consolidation, monitoring and reporting of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with financial plan assumptions and corporate priorities.
• Coordinate the finance team's preparation of annual statutory accounts and supporting working papers.
• Monitor Group cash flow, loans, investments, funding agreements and covenant compliance, escalating emerging risks promptly.
• Prepare accurate and timely Board, regulatory, statutory, funder, VAT and Corporation Tax information and returns.
• Undertake scenario modelling, stress testing and costing of new initiatives to support business planning, service viability and effective use of resources.
• Build strong business-partnering relationships, helping managers understand performance, own their budgets and take timely recovery action.
• Develop benchmarking, costing and performance information that strengthens value for money and supports sound investment choices.
About You
• You're an analytical and collaborative finance professional who can bring together information from multiple sources, identify what matters and assure the quality of financial outputs.
• You communicate complex financial and operational information clearly, build constructive relationships across functions and provide confident challenge with sound judgement.
• Organised and adaptable, you can manage competing priorities, meet demanding deadlines and know when to escalate significant issues.
• You'll bring discretion, a commitment to confidentiality and equality of opportunity, and a flexible approach to working hours.
You might already be a Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner or Senior Finance Officer looking for your next challenge. Equally, you may be an ambitious, technically strong accountant ready to take on a broader role spanning budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and business planning.
