Management Accountant

Temporary to Permanent | Growing SME Group

North Nottinghamshire | Site Based

£40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

Eaton Syalon are delighted to be supporting a growing group of businesses with the recruitment of a Management Accountant.

Having experienced significant growth through recent acquisitions, the business is entering an exciting period of integration and development. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands on Management Accountant, or an experienced Assistant Management Accountant ready to take the next step, to join at a time when they can genuinely make a difference.

to the Finance Director, you'll initially play an important role in bringing together the finance processes of two recently acquired businesses, supporting a systems transition and helping establish robust financial controls.

As the integration progresses, the role will evolve into a broader Management Accountant position, taking ownership of month end reporting, financial controls and operational accounting across both businesses.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on opportunity where no two days will necessarily look the same. Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting the transition to new accounting software, ensuring accurate financial data and effective processes.
  • Supporting project reporting, cost analysis and financial controls.
  • Working closely with operational colleagues to understand costs, investigate discrepancies and improve reporting.
  • Supporting transactional finance activities, including purchase ledger, sales invoicing and reconciliations.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve existing processes and supporting the wider integration of the businesses.

About You

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have gained experience within an SME or hands on finance environment and enjoy being involved in the detail.

You might already be working as a Management Accountant and looking for a fresh challenge, or perhaps you're an Assistant Management Accountant who is ready for greater responsibility and ownership.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • A good grounding in management accounting and month-end processes.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and an understanding of financial controls.
  • Confidence working across both management accounting and transactional finance.
  • Good Excel skills and the ability to investigate and resolve accounting queries.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and the confidence to work with colleagues across the business.

Experience with ERP software would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

What makes this role particularly interesting is the opportunity to join at a key stage of the group's development.

You'll work closely with an experienced Finance Director, gain exposure to business integration and systems improvement, and have the opportunity to shape processes rather than simply inherit them.

For someone who enjoys the variety of an SME environment and wants a role offering both challenge and longer-term ownership, this could be a really rewarding next step.

An ideal start date would be December 2026 or early January 2027.
