Hays are delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing education organisation in Staffordshire with the recruitment of a Management Accountant.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join a collaborative central finance team and play a key role in supporting financial planning, reporting and decision-making across a diverse organisation with a strong community focus.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.Working closely with senior leaders and budget holders, you will provide financial insight, challenge and support to ensure robust financial management across the organisation.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Providing detailed financial analysis and commentary
  • Monitoring budgets and supporting budget holders with financial performance
  • Assisting with year-end activities and statutory reporting requirements
  • Ensuring strong financial controls and compliance are maintained
  • Supporting financial planning and the long-term sustainability of the organisation
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple sites and departments




What you'll need to succeed
Applications are welcomed from ambitious and motivated finance professionals who can demonstrate:

  • CCAB/CIPFA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification
  • Strong management accounting experience, including budgeting and forecasting
  • The ability to analyse complex financial information and communicate findings clearly
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • The confidence to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance colleagues

Experience gained within the education, charity, public sector or wider not-for-profit sector would be advantageous, although candidates from other backgrounds who can demonstrate transferable experience are encouraged to apply.
