Management Accountant (Part-time)

About the Business

A great opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Redditch as a Part-Time Management Accountant. This is a privately owned, close-knit SME with a friendly, supportive team, where you’ll work closely with both the Managing Director and the Fractional Finance Director. This is a hands-on role with genuine flexibility around hours to suit the right person.

Main Duties:

As Part-Time Management Accountant, your main duties include:

• Taking ownership of preparing accurate, timely monthly management accounts, including full P&L and balance sheet reporting
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
• Managing intercompany reconciliations across the wider group
• Calculating work-in-progress and producing job and margin analysis
• Investigating variances against budget and prior periods, flagging and explaining any unusual movements
• Delivering clear, meaningful analysis and supporting information to the Finance Director and Managing Director
• Continually improving the accuracy, consistency and usefulness of the monthly reporting pack
• Working closely with the operational team to strengthen job costing, labour and material cost tracking within the ERP system
• Identifying practical opportunities to streamline processes and reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets
• Helping to embed stronger KPIs and richer management information across the business

Location / Office / Culture

This role is based in Redditch, working from the office so you can really get under the skin of how the business operates. In return, there’s genuine flexibility on hours, with a minimum of 18 hours per week on a part-time basis and the working pattern very open to discussion to fit around you. You’ll join a small, friendly management team in a supportive, down-to-earth working environment.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Hands-on management accounting experience
• Confidence producing end-to-end management accounts
• Comfortable and familiar working within an SME environment
• Manufacturing experience is beneficial, though not essential
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified preferred, though qualified-by-experience candidates are also welcome
• A naturally inquisitive, commercially minded approach, comfortable investigating and challenging the numbers
