Are you a commercially driven FMCG leader looking for the opportunity to take genuine ownership of a successful manufacturing business?

Our client is an established and highly regarded UK & European manufacturer of FMCG cleaning and hygiene products, with a strong market position, established manufacturing capability and a well-developed route to market.

The UK business supplies its products through an established network of official trade and cleaning product distributors, creating a distinctive commercial model where success depends on developing the market, strengthening distributor relationships, growing product penetration and ensuring the business consistently delivers against customer and market requirements.

The role:
You will have the opportunity to shape the UK business across commercial strategy, distributor development, market growth, manufacturing performance, investment, supply chain and organisational capability, working alongside a European leadership team whilst retaining significant autonomy at UK level.

It will suit an FMCG leader who enjoys operating across commercial and manufacturing environments, understands indirect routes to market and is energised by the opportunity to turn market opportunity into profitable growth.

Taking full P&L responsibility for the UK business, you will lead a broad senior leadership team and have overall accountability for commercial and operational performance.

A key focus will be identifying where the business can achieve more.

You will bring pace, commercial focus and accountability, whilst creating a culture where people are empowered to perform and continuous improvement becomes embedded across the business.

The person:
This is a senior FMCG leadership appointment and will require someone who has already operated with significant commercial, operational and P&L responsibility within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
You'll bring:

• A strong understanding of FMCG markets and commercial drivers
• Experience operating through distributors, wholesalers, trade channels or other indirect routes to market
• A track record of delivering profitable revenue growth
• Strong commercial understanding of pricing, margins, volume and product profitability
• Experience developing commercial relationships and routes to market rather than simply managing an existing customer base
• An appreciation of the relationship between market demand, commercial strategy and manufacturing capability
• The confidence to set strategic direction whilst remaining close enough to the operation to make things happen
