An established social housing contractor is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function across a portfolio of planned maintenance, refurbishment and decarbonisation projects throughout the West Midlands.
This is a senior leadership role offering responsibility for a team of Quantity Surveyors, commercial strategy, client relationships and profitable project delivery.

Description
- Lead the commercial management of multiple social housing contracts across the West Midlands.
- Manage and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
- Ensure robust cost control, budgeting and financial reporting across projects.
- Oversee procurement activities and subcontractor management.
- Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks.
- Maximise contract profitability through effective change control and value management.
- Prepare and review valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, operational teams and supply chain partners.
- Support senior leadership with commercial strategy and business planning.
- Ensure contractual compliance and adherence to company procedures.
Profile
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor within the social housing, refurbishment, planned maintenance or retrofit sectors.
- Strong understanding of commercial management principles and contract administration.
- Experience leading and developing commercial teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge of cost reporting, forecasting and risk management.
- Commercially astute with a track record of delivering profitable outcomes.
- Full UK driving licence.
