Manual Machinist; the job

Our client in the DN10 area of Doncaster are keen to recruit a skilled miller and turner to work on a range of large one-off products for industries including agriculture, heavy plant, on-shore oilfields, renewables and fabrication services.

You will be working in a spacious workshop as part of a larger workforce comprising welders, fabricators and general machinists working to tight tolerance usually with steel (general / mild steel), stainless steel and aluminium.

To apply for the manual machinist position, you will need excellent experience of manufacturing medium sized components both vertical and horizontal milling, drilling, tapping and profile cutting as well as setting up and operating centre lathes for facing, turning, drilling, boring and thread cutting (both internal and external).

It is essential that you understand speeds and feeds for different materials, are able to read drawings and how to use vernier callipers, micrometres (internal & external) and gauges.

The manual machinist is a days only position and benefits include:

Salary: Up to £41,500 (£20p/hr) plus overtime if wanted

Overtime: Paid at x1.5 for anything over 40hrs

Shifts: 8am to 5pm Mon – Thurs, finishing at 3pm on Fridays

Holidays: 20 days holiday + Stats
