QA Analyst (Manual Testing) / Hull (2-3 days per week) / £35,000 - £42,000
We're supporting a confidential technology-led organisation that delivers complex software and integrated solutions across a large customer base.
As the business continues to grow, they are looking to appoint a QA Analyst to strengthen quality assurance capability within a fast-paced delivery and support environment. This role will play a key part in improving testing standards, increasing quality ownership across technical teams, and helping to ensure issues are identified and resolved efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manual tester who enjoys working across a variety of systems and technologies, investigating complex issues, and contributing to the overall quality of business-critical applications and services.
What do we need from you?
- 3-5 years' experience in a Manual Testing or QA Analyst role
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and best practices
- Experience creating and executing test scenarios from requirements and specifications
- Ability to identify, investigate, and reproduce complex defects
- Experience working across integrated systems rather than purely web-based applications
- Comfortable setting up and managing test data environments
- Experience working with databases and data validation activities
- Understanding of how software, infrastructure, networks, and connected systems interact
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively without relying on rigid test scripts
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
The Role
The organisation is looking to improve quality assurance capability across its delivery and support functions, reducing dependency on centralised testing resources while encouraging greater ownership of quality throughout the wider technology team.
As QA Analyst, you'll be responsible for testing software enhancements, bug fixes, and customer-reported issues across a complex technology landscape. You'll work closely with developers and support teams to validate solutions, identify risks, and ensure a consistently high standard of quality before changes are released.
This role requires someone who enjoys understanding how systems work, asking questions, challenging assumptions, and uncovering issues before they reach customers.
Key Focus Areas
- Execute manual testing across multiple applications and integrated systems
- Create and maintain comprehensive test scenarios and test cases
- Support the validation of bug fixes and customer-reported issues
- Investigate defects and work closely with development teams to drive resolution
- Set up and manage test data and testing environments
- Perform database validation and data integrity testing
- Contribute to improved testing processes and quality standards
- Support continuous improvement of QA practices across the wider team
- Help embed a stronger quality-first mindset within technical teams
- Ensure changes are thoroughly validated before deployment
