Key Responsibilities
- Operating manual lathes to produce precision components
- Setting and operating machinery safely and efficiently
- Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings
- Producing components to required specifications and tolerances
- Selecting appropriate tools and materials for each job
- Measuring and inspecting finished components to ensure quality
- Carrying out general maintenance and housekeeping of machinery and the work area
- Working to production deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy
- Following all relevant Health & Safety procedures
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Manual Turner or in a similar machining role
- Strong experience operating manual lathes
- Ability to read and work from technical engineering drawings
- Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and materials
- Experience producing components to tight tolerances
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
