An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer in Bradford reporting to the Plant Manager. This role will combine traditional manufacturing engineering responsibilities across all current manufacturing processes, new process and safety related activities with a strong focus on continuous improvement. This will be a varied and exciting role which will play a key part in Bradford’s ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities

  • To design, develop, optimise, and validate new and existing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, quality, and safe production
  • To translate engineering drawings into manufacturable processes and to create and document process information and work instructions
  • To design factory layouts and select machinery and tooling
  • Support new product and process introduction and lead prototype builds
  • Provide day‑to‑day production support, troubleshoot process issues and improve existing processes by collecting and analysing production data
  • Work on the introduction and commissioning of new capital expenditure projects from machinery section through to commissioning and long term development
  • Lead CI projects focused on cost reduction, waste elimination, cycle time improvement, and quality enhancement etc.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Strong work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent engineering problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic CAD proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field or equivalent job experience.
  • Experience utilising lean manufacturing tools and techniques such as value stream mapping, 5S, SMED, and TPM etc.
  • You must be proactive, self‑motivated, inquisitive and have an instinctive engineering fix it, improve it, problem solving mindset.
  • You must like getting in to the detail and seeing things through to a conclusion.
  • You must be a good communicator and enjoy influencing and inspiring others to adopt new ways of working.
  • Be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
