We’re looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading engineering business, based in Chorley. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and a track record in manufacturing engineering, combined with experience working on projects. You’ll be joining a dynamic team where you can apply your skills to support project delivery and manufacturing optimisation.

Salary
£40,000 – £46,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location and Working Pattern
Chorley, Lancashire – 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday.

Our client is a respected engineering organisation delivering safe and high-quality projects and products to industries ranging from manufacturing to energy. Responsibilities
  • Interpret and analyse engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and configure in MRP/ERP systems.
  • Identify optimal manufacturing methodologies and create detailed routings.
  • Support project delivery within scope, budget and agreed timescales.
  • Manage and resolve technical issues, liaising with subcontractors as required.
  • Monitor manufacturing quality performance and manage Non-Conformance Reports.
  • Oversee production and provide technical support to internal teams and suppliers.
  • Produce accurate reports for inclusion in project updates and meetings.
Must‑have Requirements
  • Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum of HNC/HND in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.
  • Experience in managing or leading people.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (Business Central preferred).
  • Experience managing projects or programmes of work in a delivery environment.
Nice‑to‑have Skills
  • Background in varied manufacturing techniques including fabrication, machining and welding.
  • Understanding of NEC contracts and commercial principles.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other drawing software.
  • Knowledge of project risk and cost management.
