Manufacturing Engineer -  Edinburgh

We’re working with an innovative engineering business developing specialist test and measurement products used across global telecommunications networks.
They’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer -  Edinburgh to join a small, experienced manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or an engineer with 1–2 years’ experience who wants to build their technical skills and progress within a hands-on engineering environment.

The Role - Manufacturing Engineer -  Edinburgh

You’ll work across manufacturing, testing, fault finding and new product introduction, working closely with both internal engineering teams and external manufacturing partners.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out manufacturing testing and calibration on production instruments
  • Investigating customer returns and carrying out RMA fault finding
  • Diagnosing electronic faults down to component level
  • Carrying out local PCB/electronic rework where required
  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and the transition of new products into manufacturing
  • Working with design engineers on Design for Manufacture (DFM)
  • Supporting contract manufacturers with technical issues, testing and fault finding
  • Troubleshooting complex analogue and high-speed digital circuits


What We're Looking For - Manufacturing Engineer -  Edinburgh

  • HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, or relevant hands-on experience
  • Experience or understanding of electronic circuit debugging
  • Ideally some exposure to component-level fault finding or PCB repair
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Confident communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing engineering environment
