Manufacturing Engineer Opportunities

We are recruiting for two Manufacturing Engineer positions: one permanent role and one 12-month fixed-term contract. If you are an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who is creative, solutions-focused, enthusiastic, and passionate about driving improvements, we would love to hear from you.

As part of our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will support a low-volume, high-technology product line. You will take ownership of manufacturing processes, documentation and equipment, lead improvement initiatives, and support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. This is a varied role where you will drive positive change, lead small project teams, and implement modern manufacturing techniques to improve key performance measures including quality, on-time delivery, efficiency, and cost.

Working collaboratively across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, NPI, and the Project Management Office, to problem solve and continuously improve you will ensure manufacturing processes and documentation are robust, effective, and fit for purpose. You will identify and mitigate risks, deliver cost reduction opportunities and maintain the highest standards of quality and performance.

Permanent Manufacturing Engineer – Magnet Manufacture

The permanent position will support our Magnet Manufacturing value stream. Candidates with significant experience working with magnets, including Principal Build Technicians or similar professionals looking to progress into a Manufacturing Engineering role, are encouraged to apply. Full training and development support will be provided to help you make this transition.

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract Manufacturing Engineer

The fixed-term position will support a strategic project focused on improving efficiency and reducing costs within a critical product sub-assembly. This role requires previous Manufacturing Engineering experience within an NPI environment and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on a high-profile programme.

About you

You will ideally hold an HNC, degree, or equivalent qualification in an engineering or scientific discipline, combined with relevant experience in an electromechanical manufacturing environment. Experience within a low-volume, high-technology manufacturing setting would be advantageous.

Knowledge of cryogenics, superconducting magnets, or vacuum technology would be highly beneficial; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.

You will have experience applying tools and methodologies such as:

  • PFMEA and DFMEA
  • Risk assessment and risk management
  • Design for Manufacture Assembly (DfMA)
  • Lean manufacturing principles
  • Problem Solving methodologies

Strong process development, documentation, and process control skills are essential, along with the ability to support technicians through build and test activities. To succeed in this role, you will also be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

If you are looking for an opportunity to contribute to innovative, high-technology products while developing your career within a supportive engineering environment, we would be delighted to hear from you.
