Manufacturing Engineer in Ashton-under-Lyne, Borough of Tameside

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to work on a permanent basis near Ashton Under Lyne.

Salary is c£50,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension, company bonus etc.

About the Manufacturing Engineer role:

The position will involve working closely with Production, Quality and NC Programming to ensure projects are planned effectively, manufactured to the required specification and delivered on time.

The Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the manufacturing process for individual components and assemblies across customer projects.

Key responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Planning manufacturing sequences and processes for individual parts and assemblies.

  • Developing effective and efficient manufacturing routes to meet customer requirements.

  • Liaising with NC Programming to ensure the most appropriate manufacturing methods and processes are used.

  • Working closely with Production and Quality to ensure customer specifications and requirements are fully understood and achieved.

  • Monitoring project progress and providing updates to customers where required.

  • Identifying and resolving manufacturing issues throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Supporting the business with continuous improvement and best practice manufacturing methods.

  • Ensuring projects remain on schedule and any potential issues are identified and addressed promptly.

  • Working across multiple departments to ensure a smooth transition from planning through to manufacture.

About the Manufacturing Engineer:

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Planning environment.

  • Experience planning manufacturing processes, routes or sequences.

  • A good understanding of engineering/manufacturing processes.

  • Experience working closely with Production, Quality and CNC/NC Programming teams.

  • The ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into practical manufacturing solutions.

  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.

  • Good communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with both internal teams and customers.

  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple projects or priorities.
