We are working with a advanced engineering organisation operating within a high-reliability microelectronics manufacturing environment. They are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, introduction, and optimisation of advanced manufacturing processes for complex electronic assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Lead selection of materials and development of manufacturing processes for new and existing products
- Act as a technical SME across manufacturing, engineering, and customer interfaces
- Support the introduction of new products into production, ensuring smooth transition from development
- Work closely with Process Engineering on development work packages and process definition
- Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, BOMs, process specifications)
- Support product and process qualification activities in collaboration with Quality teams
- Engage with suppliers to assess and implement new manufacturing capabilities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, quality, and efficiency
- Provide clear technical updates and progress reporting to stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Experience in manufacturing support, process engineering, or technology development
- Strong understanding of manufacturing materials and electronic assembly processes
- Experience within aerospace, defence, semiconductor, microelectronics, or similar regulated/high-reliability industries
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and standard MS Office tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams
- Eligible for Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
Desirable
- Experience with microelectronic packaging or cleanroom environments
- Knowledge of industry quality standards (e.g. ISO / AS9100)
- Experience producing technical documentation and delivering training
