The Opportunity

Are you an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong CNC background and a passion for driving operational excellence?

We're looking for a CNC & Paintline Manager to lead two key manufacturing departments within our production operation. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for developing people, improving processes, and ensuring the safe, efficient production of high-quality components.

You'll lead a team of approximately 25 employees, with 3 direct reports, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance.

Although this is a day shift position, there will occasionally be a requirement to provide support to the night shift (8:00pm–6:30am) when business needs require.

Key Responsibilities

As CNC & Paintline Manager, you will:

  • Lead, motivate and develop CNC and Paintline teams to consistently achieve safety, quality and production targets.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing development of production staff.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions and team meetings to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production schedules to ensure components are delivered on time and to specification.
  • Monitor and optimise CNC programmes, tooling and paintline processes to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Lead daily SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People) meetings.
  • Drive a proactive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all company procedures and UK legislation.
  • Oversee machinery inspections, risk assessments and accident investigations.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across both departments.
  • Analyse production data and KPIs, using technology and AI tools where appropriate to identify trends and support operational decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with Planning, Assembly, Maintenance, Quality and Transport teams to ensure a smooth production flow.

About You

We're looking for someone who can bring both strong technical knowledge and exceptional leadership skills.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience managing teams within a CNC manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Strong people management skills with experience developing and coaching teams.
  • A data-driven approach to decision-making and performance management.
  • Confidence using technology and AI tools to analyse production data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience implementing Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and operational performance.

What's in it for you?

This is an opportunity to join a successful manufacturing business that is investing in its people, technology and operational excellence. You'll have the autonomy to make improvements, develop your team and play a key role in driving manufacturing performance.
