Job title: Manufacturing Managing Director
Location: East Midlands
Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 per annum
Executive Package + Benefits (Full P & L responsibility)
The Opportunity
Take the helm of an established, highly respected £5.5m turnover manufacturing business. With a robust product portfolio and a skilled workforce in place, the foundations are secure. The mission now is growth.
We need a commercially driven, operational MD to challenge the status quo, modernise operations, and unlock new commercial opportunities.
Crucially, this individual must come from a manufacturing, production or engineered product environment and understand what it takes to lead and improve a manufacturing operation from the factory floor through to the boardroom.
The Role
- Drive Operational Excellence: Optimise capacity, streamline supply chains, and embed Lean/Continuous Improvement practices directly onto the shop floor.
- Accelerate Commercial Growth: Lead and mentor an established sales team while pioneering new, diversified routes to market.
- Deliver Financial Performance: Hold full P&L accountability to improve productivity, protect margins, increase profitability, and build a highly scalable business.
The Profile
- Pure Manufacturing DNA: You must come from a manufacturing, production, or engineered product environment.
- Floor-to-Boardroom Credibility: Equally comfortable discussing long-term growth strategy in the boardroom as you are identifying bottlenecks alongside engineers on the factory floor.
- Proven Leadership: A track record as a Managing Director or senior operational/commercial leader in a manufacturing environment who has successfully scaled an industrial business.
- Modernisation Mindset: Experience introducing automation, data-led decision-making, and modern manufacturing practices to drive competitiveness.
