JRS Associates Ltd has partnered with a well-established precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Planner. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing business where you'll play a key role in planning the manufacture of high-precision machined components while working closely with engineering, production and purchasing teams.

This position would suit someone with a background in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Planning, Process Engineering or CNC Programming who enjoys improving manufacturing processes and ensuring production runs efficiently.

The Successful Manufacturing Planner – Package

  • £34,000 to £38,000 per annum
  • 37.5-hour working week
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm & Friday: 8:00am – 1:30pm

The Successful Manufacturing Planner – Role

  • Create and maintain manufacturing routes for precision machined components
  • Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Raise and manage works orders using the company's MRP system
  • Review customer orders, engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Liaise with production, engineering and purchasing to ensure efficient workflow
  • Maintain manufacturing documentation and technical data
  • Support production planning and scheduling activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing methods and planning processes
  • Ensure accurate engineering data is maintained within the ERP/MRP system

The Successful Manufacturing Planner – Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Manufacturing Planner, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Process Engineer or similar
  • Alternatively, an experienced CNC Programmer looking to move into a planning role
  • Experience within Precision Engineering, CNC Machining, Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport or Advanced Manufacturing
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience creating or maintaining Manufacturing Routes, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Works Orders
  • Previous experience using MRP or ERP systems
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and CNC machining methods
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

Desirable Experience

  • CNC machining or CNC programming background
  • Manufacturing methods and process improvement
  • Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement
  • Experience using SAP, Epicor, Sigma MRP, EFACS or similar ERP/MRP systems
