Manufacturing Project Engineer 

  • Flexi time. Finish at 12;00 on Friday. Role is focused around NPI projects, supporting customers from concept through to production.  

  • Newly created jobs role Nottingham, Ilkeston, Long Eaton, Hucknall, Heanor region

  • 12:00 finish on a Friday. £18m t/o agile manufacturing company. Start early finish early 7;00 to 15:30 or similar Monday to Thursday and Friday 12:00 finish. 
  • Mechanical precision components into Medical and pharma manufacturing / engineering (plus aerospace, semiconductor and highly regulated industries)

Are you seeking project engineering or Manufacturing Engineer jobs in the Nottingham region? Do you have enjoy managing a range of NPI projects and working with a diverse set of customers? This role would suit someone who has been involved in NPI or Manufacturing related engineering projects who wants variety within a growing company that offers flexibility. 

The role is to manage the introduction of new projects from initiation to start of production. Providing technical and engineering support for customers and internal teams. Having full responsibility for project planning, implementation and process documentation.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Duties

  • Full responsibility for planning, implementing, and coordinating customers new product introduction to the business to ensure a smooth delivery from project initiation to start of production.

  • Support New Product Introduction by ensuring the correct procedures (customer and Company) are followed through the development and release to production to meet all aspects of cost, quality, manufacturability, process capability, delivery for successful launch

  • Oversee defined work packages, including detailed instructions, drawings, bills of material, references, inspection requirements.

  • Use Problem Definition, Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving Techniques and Failure Analysis to ensure high standard of NPI delivery

  • Develop, oversee and seek continuous improvement of the NPI process e.g conducting lessons learnt workshops.

Essential Experience

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Proven expertise in manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing and ISO standards

  • Ability to identify and deliver improvements the manufacturing process in a structured and controlled manner.

  • Good IT and literacy skills (MS Project software)

  • Able to present information to audiences of differing skill levels

  • They are brilliant at training and developing people. So you will be keen to learn

  • Exposure to highly regulated sectors (aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear, medical, pharmaceutical, automotive) would be beneficial or someone wanting to enter this professional structured world

  • 150 to 200 headcount business so an SME mentality in terms of being a ‘doer’
