Pay Rate: £15.56 per hour
Hours: Shift work available across seven days, including evenings and weekends



About the Role

We are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Support Workers to join our team at the Ernest Bold Centre in Wolverhampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for compassionate professionals who are committed to supporting vulnerable individuals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, dignity and care. Successful candidates will play a key role in creating a safe and positive environment, supporting individuals with complex needs and responding effectively to challenging situations when required.



Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must hold:

  • Valid MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression) Training
  • Moving and Handling certification
  • Previous experience working in a support, care, or specialist setting
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding principles and person-centred care


Key Responsibilities

As a MAPA Trained Support Worker, you will be expected to:

  • Recognise and respond to early signs of distress, agitation, or escalating behaviour
  • Use effective communication and verbal de-escalation techniques to minimise risk and prevent incidents from escalating
  • Maintain safe positioning and professional awareness at all times
  • Apply approved safe disengagement and breakaway techniques when necessary
  • Safely withdraw from unwanted physical contact while preserving the dignity and wellbeing of all individuals involved
  • Support the safety of service users, colleagues and visitors
  • Follow agreed risk management procedures and seek assistance when required
  • Complete accurate incident reporting and record keeping in line with organisational policies
