Chief Engineer (Marine) – Dredging Fleet
Location: Cargo Fleet Wharf, Teesside
Rotation: Week on / Week off (12.5-hour shifts)

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be partnering with PD Ports to appoint Chief Engineers into their Marine division, supporting dredging operations across their fleet.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall management, performance and reliability of all onboard engineering systems. You will lead the engine room function, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant operation of mechanical, electrical and dredging equipment while working closely with both onboard teams and shore-based support.
The role will take ownership of maintenance planning and execution across propulsion systems, pumps, hydraulics and electrical infrastructure, as well as specialist dredging equipment. You will play a key role in supporting dredging operations, working alongside operators to maximise efficiency and maintain consistent output.
A strong focus on safety and compliance is essential. You will ensure adherence to Class and Flag requirements, ISM standards and environmental regulations, while promoting a proactive safety culture across the vessel. Alongside this, you will manage engineering budgets, monitor fuel and consumables, and maintain accurate technical records and reporting.
As Chief Engineer, you will also be responsible for leading, mentoring and developing the engineering team, ensuring high levels of competency, performance and engagement.
