The below job description will outline this position of: Marine Engineer
Typically, this person will carry out diagnostics, servicing, repairs and installation work across marine engines, transmissions, drives, generators and associated systems. Working within a yacht refit, repair and maintenance environment, you will support projects ranging from annual servicing to full refits on vessels up to 40 metres.

Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Engineer:
- Diagnose faults, service and repair marine engines, transmissions, drive systems and generators.
- Carry out engine removal, installation and associated mechanical repair work.
- Overhaul or replace components, including starters, pumps, blowers and fuel and electrical system components.
- Undertake mechanical system rebuilds.
- Repair and rewire ignition systems, lighting and instrument panels.
- Install and repair onboard equipment, including radios, heaters, waste systems and electronic accessories.
- Assist with general boat maintenance, including cleaning, polishing, sanding, antifouling and other annual maintenance tasks.
- Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and cared for.
- Work closely with other trades to deliver work to the required quality standards.
- Experience in marine engineering, including engine diagnostics, servicing and mechanical repairs.
- Experience working within the luxury yacht industry would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A practical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to undertake varied tasks.
- An understanding of quality processes and high standards of workmanship.
- The ability to listen to, understand and follow instructions.
